Mayor And Council
Chatsworth City Council meets on the first Monday night of each month at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
Meet Our Mayor and Council
Mayor K.W. Gong was born and raised in Mississippi and received his BBA from the University of Mississippi in 1965. He worked in the Banking Industry for 49 1/2 years. Mayor Gong worked in Chatsworth at the First National Bank (FNB) for twenty three years and retired from First National Bank on July 31, 2015.
Alderman Crump has been with the Murray County School System for 40 years. He has been on the Chatsworth City Council since 2019. He is married to his wonderful wife, Cheri, for 34 years. Alderman Crump and Cheri have one son and three grandchildren.

Alderman Griffin is a life-long Murray County resident, owning local businesses for over 12 years. He served on the Chatsworth Murray County Recreation Board for over 6 years, and is currently serving on the City of Chatsworth Housing Authority. Alderman Griffin has been a member of the First Untied Methodist Church of Chatsworth for over 50 years, serving on and leading numerous committees. He is married to Sandy Cochran Griffin and has two daughters Courtney Griffin Johnston married to Dustin Johnston and Morgan Griffin Sanford married to Chase Sanford.
Alderman Cloer has lived in Murray County for 59 years. He is married to his beautiful wife, Novenia. They have three children and three grandchildren with a fourth one on the way.
Alderman Welch was born in Whitfield County and was raised in Murray County. He has lived in Chatsworth since 1973. Alderman Welch has served on the City Council since 1991. He has served as Mayor Pro-tem for the last 4 years. Alderman Welch has two children, Wendy and Matt.
